Jerry Lee Thompson, 54, of Janesville passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Beloit Health System. Jerry was born in Janesville on December 31, 1957, the son of Robert Louis Thompson Sr. and Carol Ann (Britton) Thompson. He attended Parker High School. He was formerly employed by Alpha Cast in Palmyra, as a security guard in Madison and as a clerk by Rollette Oil Company. As a young man, he played drums with several local bands.
Surviving are a son, Richard Geiger of Madison, a step-son, Jay VanAcker of Madison, his mother, Carol Thompson of Janesville, 2 brothers, Dennis (Carol Walmer) Thompson of Janesville, Jeffrey Thompson of Janesville, 2 sisters, Kenlyn (Roger) Walmer of Monticello, Linda (Robert Benson) Cowan of Janesville and a sister-in-law, Margaret Thompson of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Thompson Sr. and 1 brother, Robert Thompson Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Pastor Robert Logan will officiate.  The family will meet friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
